Claudia is transitioning into entrepreneurship to bring cutting-edge research into real-world applications. Her efforts have been recognised with multiple awards, including both the jury and public prizes at GENILEM's recent pitching competition, which highlighted her project’s transformative potential.
As an alumna of the Business Concept Training, Claudia’s journey showcases the power of combining scientific expertise with entrepreneurial vision to address critical healthcare needs and improve lives.
Alexandra Hirsch
Alexandra Hirsch is the founder of My Homies, a digital platform revolutionising the way people find flatmates and rooms to rent in Switzerland. With a background in corporate roles, Alexandra transitioned into entrepreneurship to address the challenges of flat-sharing with an innovative solution that has already built a community of over 2,000 users.
Launched just six months ago, My Homies centralises flatmate ads and enhances the search process with advanced profile-matching technology and user-friendly tools like personalised filters and online visit scheduling.
As an alumna of the Business Concept Training, Alexandra embodies the spirit of early-stage entrepreneurship, combining her strategic mindset with a deep understanding of market needs. Her journey reflects her drive to simplify housing searches while building a strong and scalable digital platform.
Saoirse Kathryn McConnell
Co-Founder of SurfAce | Innovation Project Manager at BioApply
Saoirse Kathryn McConnell is an engineer, innovator, and co-founder of SurfAce, a start-up revolutionising the packaging industry with sustainable solutions. SurfAce’s biobased coating strengthens compostable films by 30%, enabling thinner, cost-effective, and eco-friendly packaging without sacrificing performance.
Currently balancing her role as Innovation Project Manager at BioApply, Saoirse is spearheading SurfAce’s growth and preparing it for market impact. Her expertise spans biopolymers, biodegradable packaging, and composite polymer coatings, making her a leader in sustainable material innovation.
